Harrop Fold Farm has been sympathetically restored in the spirit of the original 17th Century buildings and now offers Day & Residential Art Courses, Bed & Breakfast and Self-Catering Cottage accommodation.

Harrop Fold is set within its own 20 acres of land and visitors are welcome to walk along the many footpaths that cross the property.  A footpath from the door reaches the Gritstone Trail.  There are two lovely brooks - Mellow Brook and Harrop Brook, which are visited by a great variety of wildlife, and there is a huge diversity of bird life to be seen around the farm.

Harrop Fold Farm is a smallholding nestling in a wooded gritstone valley on the western side of the Peak District National Park and has magnificent views over the Cheshire Plain to the Welsh Mountains.  It has a courtyard of attractive traditional stone buildings that are of architectural and archaeological interest and there is evidence of a Roman road passing through.  Archives also suggest a tannery at Harrop Fold Farm was used by Bonnie Prince Charlie as he made his way to Derby to attempt to seize the English crown.

Each room has been individually designed to make your stay welcoming and luxurious.  Antique beds, old oak beams, Michael Moore’s original paintings on the walls, and in Mellow Brook Cottage a roaring log fire, will all help you unwind.  In the Homestead homemade goodies on your welcome tray, and at bedtime fluffy robes and soft slippers, down duvets and pillows ensure a good night’s sleep ready for a superb Aga cooked breakfast of your choice.  We pride ourselves in our delicious choices of foods, which are served using the finest local ingredients, our own free-range eggs and homemade preserves.

Our choice of bedrooms in The Homestead are:

Oak Bedroom is a beautiful bedroom of character retaining the original oak trusses with a superb king sized English Oak four-poster bed, en-suite bathroom, and door leading out to a terrace overlooking the Cheshire Plain to the Welsh Mountains.

Valley View Room features a charming 18th Century king size bed, en-suite bathroom and breathtaking views over the Cheshire Plain.
This larger bedroom may be used as a twin/family room (with the addition of two single beds).

Both bedrooms offer:

·         A Welcoming Tray offering a selection of teas  & coffee, a friendly glass of wine, biscuits and chocolates.

·         Freeview Digital Television with all the additional news & music channels.  DVD also suitable for playing CDs and both may be borrowed from the guest's library.

·         Luxurious pure down duvets and pillows.

·         Pampering arrays of Molton Brown toiletries are presented in each bathroom.

·         Wireless Internet

If you prefer to self-cater, Mellow Brook Cottage a spacious 17th Century Barn Conversion sleeps up to 6 in two en-suite bedrooms offers this alternative.  Mellow Brook would offer this alternative.  Stunning views are enjoyed from here along with spectacular sunsets.
