Details
The
art course begins on arrival at Harrop Fold Farm, enjoying ‘A
Quintessentially English Experience’, this theme is carried
through with the accommodation, homemade and home reared or
locally sourced food through to the art courses.
Guests arrive bringing nothing with them and leave with
their own beautifully framed painting; the sense of guest’s
achievement is wonderful to witness. This is a family business with husband & wife, Michael &
Jackie involved on the art courses, Jackie’s daughter Sue and
husband David responsible for the food, accommodation
and farm, and their Cordon Bleu trained daughter Leah, cooking for
the residential dinners.
One
Day Courses
Guests arrive at 10am and are welcomed with a selection of
drinks and homemade cakes. They
are introduced to the studio and having previously discussed their
medium and topic are given all of their equipment.
The
morning usually forms a master class of the guests
‘following’ Mike but being fully supervised and then after a
delicious lunch of local and homemade/reared produce set to to
finish their task.
The afternoon sees Mike teach ‘professional secrets’
which guests love! By afternoon teatime the painting is completed,
this is then framed and presented to the ‘artist’ who then
takes this home as a wonderful testimony to their day at Harrop
Fold Farm.
